The Permanent Committee for the Promotion of the Michele Pittaluga International Guitar Competition, Citt? di Alessandria Prize, is organizing the 42nd International Guitar Competition for both ancient and modern works for 6 strings classical guitar.
Soloists of all nationalities are admitted to the competition, provided that they were not born before 1st January 1979.
The following documents should be sent with the application form:
a) A photocopy of an identity document (passport, driving licence, etc.).
b) Two recent, medium sized pictures (10 cms x 15 cms).
c) Curriculum vitae, details of any prizes received, with documentation and certificates concernung to courses and studies followed, concert programmes, critical reviews and any other relevant documents.
Registration can only take place by mailing the documents required, including the registration form signed by the candidate. The inscription can be sent in advance by e-mail using the downloadable form from the site: www.pittaluga.org.

Programme
First round (qualifying round):
Aprogramme of minimum 20 minutes and maximum 22 minutes free choice of the contestants including the piece:
- Antonio Lauro Seis por derecho - Joropo, al estilo del arpa venezolana (suggested scores by Caroni Music or Zanibon).
A copy of the pieces chosen should be consigned to the Jury.
Second round (semifinal):
A programme of minimum 40 minutes and maximum 43 minutes with free choice of pieces (excluding those performed during the first round) including:
- Antonio Lauro, Suite venezuelana (suggested scores by Caroni Music or Broekmans van Poppel BVP 793)
Final round
One concerto, chosen by the candidate, select from the following:
– Heitor Villa-Lobos: Concerto per chitarra e orchestra (ed. Max Eschig);
– Joaqu?N Rodrigo: Fantas?a para un gentilhombre (ed. Schott);
– Antonio Lauro: Concerto n.1 in La Magg. per chitarra e orchestra (ed. Zanibon)
