Classical guitar lessons online

When it comes to Classical guitar playing we can not avoid thinking about the great Spanish master Andres Segovia who did so much for this instrument in the XX century. The information you will get on these lessons is inspired by Segovia’s technique. When I first heard Segovia in the early 70's, it was a revelation. His tone, technical ability and his way of interpreting music made a big impact on me, to the point that I decided to learn to play that way and dedicate my life to Classical guitar. I had the fortune to move to Madrid to study at the Royal Conservatory of Music with Demetrio Ballesteros These lessons are in a way a tribute to Segovia’s legacy and my teacher Demetrio (Tito) and a way to promote making music on one of the most beautiful musical instruments, the Spanish Classical Guitar.
The online lessons, that I call "The Art of Classical Guitar Playing" will be an on going course dealing with all aspects of classical guitar playing, classical music and music in general, making use of the internet and its possibilities for providing information in a more interactive way. On the lessons for the absolute beginner you will learn about posture, right and left hand techniques, tone development and how to increase speed and accuracy in your playing. All together there will be 43 original studies (lessons) that will show you, in a detailed and step by step sequence, how to play guitar using the classical technique. I will also incorporate 15 pieces by different ... more
